The Kölnischer
Kunstverein: Art and Migration
www.koelnischerkunstverein.de
The Kölnischer Kunstverein is the carrier of the "Project
Migration" initiated by the Cultural Foundation of the Federal
Republic of Germany. Since 2002 there have been lecture and film
series, exhibitions, discussions and workshops on the theme of migration
at the Kölnischer Kunstverein. With this long-term and diverse
program of events, to which internationally recognized artists,
architects, filmmakers and theorists are invited, the Kölnischer
Kunstverein enables a broad and enhancing perception and discussion
of the theme of migration. One of the thematic focal points of this
event series is the question of how migration as a principle of
art and thinking is inscribed in contemporary artistic and theoretical
productions. In addition, the Kölnischer Kunstverein investigates
and initiates contemporary artistic positions that deal with the
representation and visualization of migration in many different
ways and will be shown in a major exhibition project in Cologne
in 2005.
